Regarding the Question about the IIci Cache Card:

>From the FAQ:

6.23 I've heard that the external cache in my IIci is disabled by
default. How do I enable it?

First, you'll need to be able to compile your own kernel. Then all you
have to do is comment out the line:

       options DISABLE_EXT_CACHE

in your kernel config file and recompile the kernel. This will enable the
cache. The only reason it is disabled by default
in the GENERIC kernels is fear that it might cause a problem. Many people
have reported that it works just fine for
them, however, and some report that it makes a noticeable difference.
