You just answered your own question. Because it's a 24bit system, you can
only access 8MB RAM. The MacOS thoughtfully groups all the useless RAM you
have under the system area, so it looks like your system is taking up huge
amounts of memory. Get a copy of MODE32 and all will be happiness and light.
