           X, we discussed the matter yesterday with Apple's Avie
Tevanian. The bottom
           line is that Apple is firmly committed to the BSD architecture
for Mac OS X,
           using Apple-enhanced NetBSD source code (thus avoiding
dependency on any
           third party).
