I'm sure quite a bit you know about this, but I thought I would post
it up.

This is for the LCIII with its stock 512k VRAM

Go into your monitor control panel and click on the option button.

You'll see two settings Macintosh Hi-Res and 640x400 Hi-Res. Click on
the 640x400 option and reboot. You can then run in 16bbp with the side
effect of a smaller screen. Thats of course if you have the OSFA
color server from ftp.macbsd.com
