There is no /usr/src/sys/arch/conf dir, I am going to assume that this was
just
a typo and you really meant /usr/src/sys/arch/mac68k/conf 
So you are in that directory, and you type a config BORGEN, could you
please do
a
ls -algF /usr/src/sys/arch/mac68k/conf  and post the results here along with a
ls -algF  /usr/src/sys/arch/mac68k/
