I'm using modified 1.3.1 GENERIC. I removed some options:
COMPAT_SUNOS, QUOTA, M68040, M68020, FPU_EMULATE from GENERIC.
My SE/30 has 20M mem, 1.2G disk (200M for MacOS,1G for NetBSD).
