If you want to use the package system, I think you have to upgrade to
1.3.  But otherwise, it should run on 1.2.1.

In either case, I'd suggest you get the whole contents of this
directory:

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/pkgsrc/editors/xemacs20

There's a Makefile which lists several ftp sites carrying XEmacs 20.3
source distribution.

As for precompiled binary for NetBSD/m68k, I don't know any place.
It's certainly too large for me to carry on my web page.
