Thanks for the offer, but I just gave up on it because of a certain
source file which causes cc1 to exit on SIGABRT.  It's
nsprpub/pr/src/misc/prnetdb.c, and the signal is pretty reproducible.

I might have hit a bug in our gcc but I'm no gcc expert... *sigh*
