Not so!  I use a Kensington Trackball mouse on my IIci and it works fine!
I think it depends more on the init code of the particular Mac than 
anything else.  Kernel is SLOTMAN.

I also use this same keyboard and mouse on the Quad605
with GENERIC 47 and it causes no problem there either.  It does however
cause my IIx to fail to boot into NetBSD.
