Sounds more like Linux doesn't work. That's a bug in the Linux stuff
then... triggered by NetBSD, yes, but nothing anyone sends out should
cause Linux to drop the ppp connection.  You might try turning off rfc1323
stuff on the NetBSD box... I hear that some versions of Linux don't like
it. (sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.rfc1323=0, or something like that... I'm away
from my NetBSD machine right now.  sysctl -a should give you a list).
