port-mac68k: ae0 doesn't work

Running a kernel with either today's or yesterday's sources (I can't
remember) I get this at boot up:
ae0 at nubus0 slot c: MacCon Ethernet, 32KB memory
ae0: Ethernet address 00:00:00:00:00:00

Then when I try to ifconfig ae0 I get this:
root@scdesantis# ifconfig ae0 inet 10.0.0.1 netmask 0xffffff00
ifconfig: SIOCAIFADDR: Unknown error: 2149607692

Anyone else having trouble like this?
Sorry if this belongs more on current-users but it's mac related, right?
