Greetings all,

The deciding moment came when I found out that I couldn't ps anymore.
Not being able to use netatalk was also an incentive. Eventually though,
I decided to move to NetBSD-1.3_ALPHA.

I first installed GENREICSBC#48 and confirmed that it would boot and run.
Then, I ftp'd the 1.3_ALPHA binaries from ftp.netbsd.org and used
Installer 1.11.0 to install them from the Mac OS side (sorry Mark). Now
when I try to boot, I get through the boot process until I reach:

boot device: sd2
root on sd2a dumps on sd2b
PRAM: 0x346e5a8f, macos_boottime 0x346e5a7e.
root file system type: ffs
swapctl: adding sd2b as swap device at priority 0
Automatic boot in progress: starting file system checks.
Usage: fsck [-dfnpy] [-b block] [-c level] [-m mode] filesystem...
Unkonwn error; help1

Then it asks me for the pathname for the shell or hit return for sh.
When I hit return, note my terminal type and type:

fsck -f sd2c

I get:

sd2c (No such file or directory)Can't stat sd2c
Can't stat sd2c: No such file or directory

My first inclination was to cpout the fstab and see what it looks like.
It says:

/dev/sd2a / ufs rw 1 1
/dev/sd2b none swap sw 0 0
kern /kern kernfs rw 0 0
proc /proc procfs rw 0 0

[whitepsace added for aesthetic reasons]

I seem to remember there was an Installer that chewed up file systems.
Was it 1.1[something other than e]?

What do you all recommend? I am getting ready to hit the sack. I think
I will re-install everything tonight while I am asleep using Installer
1.1e.

Cheers,

Sean.
