Hmm, you know... It sounds like y'all aren't using the --unlink option
when untarring the 1.3_ALPHA snapshot. That usage message is fsck_ffs's
usage, not fsck's. Before, fsck and fsck_ffs were linked together, so
unless you tell tar to --unlink, they'll stay linked together and
things'll break.

# fsck -h
fsck: illegal option -- h
Usage: fsck [-dpvlyn] [-T fstype:fsoptions] [-t fstype] [special|node]...

# fsck_ffs
Usage: fsck_ffs [-dfnpy] [-b block] [-c level] [-m mode] filesystem ...

So... make sure you're doing "tar --unlink -xzvpf base" (take a look at
step 6 of the cool new UPGRADE instructions at
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.3_ALPHA/mac68k/UPGRADE)
