You are booting into single user mode.  In the booter under the OPTIONS
->BOOTING menu uncheck "boot single user"(unless this is what your
trying to do:) ) Then when you boot it will NOT prompt you for a shell,
but WILL prompt you for a terminal type. the dialog has a default of
vt220, for which you can simply press return to continue into NetBSD.
