Fetch claims 580K/s getting a 6.2MB file from my Pentium (from a mfs RAM
disk) to a RAM disk on the MacOS side, although the peak was about 1MB/s. 
Got 711K/s sending the file, with a 1.1MB/s peak. I don't know how
reliable fetch's numbers are though :)

BTW, if you're interested in doing network throughput tests with unixy
systems on both ends, check out ttcp... I got mine from
ftp://ftp.wu-wien.ac.at/pub/src/Networking/ttcp-1.4.tar.gz although I have
no idea if that's the latest (probably not, since it's seems to be 8 years
old :) It just sends a bunch of either TCP or UDP data around, avoiding
any bottlenecks introduced by disk access.
