I think that NetBSD 1.3 will ship with 3 shells:

/bin/sh
/bin/csh
/bin/ksh (I'm not positive about this last one)

any of the above three will work just fine. The default is /bin/sh (i.e.
what you get when you hit return), although the default for BSD-derived
OS's in general seems to be /bin/csh. Whichever you choose is your
preference.

I generally choose vt100, although I think that vt220 will work just as
well. You can get rid of this by editing /.profile once you've gotten the
system going.

Keep the FAQ close at hand, it has answers to the most common questions
you'll hit next. I guess I should probably add these questions to it,
since many newbies tend to be caught by it. If you're new to Unix, I'd
recommend picking up one of the numerous guides to using a Unix-like OS
that are out there. Also, since you'll be administering your own system,
see if you can get a copy of the "Red Book" (i.e. the "UNIX System
Administration Handbook", 2nd ed. by Nemeth, Snyder, Seebass, and Garth)

I hope this helps some, and let us know if you have any more questions.

Later.
