I dunno about that, since I don't have a SONIC-based card... I just
noticed it while looking at if_sn.c for ideas on what to do in my MACE
driver.

(And I don't know how the change affects the performance of the MACE
driver either, since my Mac's been busy recompiling the userland
binaries... hopefully it'll be done in an hour or so and I can reboot with
a new kernel though :)
