Huh?  With the Q630, the esp driver should take care of you just fine
with any recent kernel.

What I'd probably try to do is:
	Boot into BSD.
	fsck your root partition
	download or use the hfs utilities to copy in the X sets
	install the X sets with "cd / ; tar zxvf FOO" where FOO is
		one of the X set names
