This may be helpful: there's a utility from NewerTech called "GURU"
(stands for GUide to Ram Upgrades), which contains info on all available
Macs and the possible memory configurations, including notes on what kind
of SIMMs should be in which bank. It may be available from the InfoMac
archive, you can also download it from http://www.newertech.com (don't
have the URL handy).
