Hi everybody!

Thought to still try mounting an el cheapo MEDIAVIS cdrom player,
thought i've not yet gotten a new kernel--with a cdrom patch--to
compile. Yes, Colin Wood's faq has been followed for setting up a cdrom
player ie, "./MAKEDEV etc..."

    Vendor: MEDIAVIS
    Model: RENO CD-ROMX2A
    Rev: 2.03

So here went the mount w/o a patched kernel (using GENERIC 44 now):

mount -t cd9660 -o ro /dev/cd0c /cdrom

cd0(esp0:2:0): esp0: timed out [ecb 0x6ba388c (flags 0x1; dleft 0, stat
0)] , <state 2, nexus 0x6ba388c, phase (c 100, p3), resid 0, msg (q 0, o

Well, since this is written in Swahili, i'll have to wait till the
patched scsiconf.c gets compiled into a new kernel. But that is another
story ...Or, is there a work around from having to compile a new kernel
to read this cdrom player? Maybe an lkm?

Advice helps!

Sincerely,

Brian Wildasinn
