According to Colin's machine-overview on puma.macbsd.com, the IIcx should be
capable of running MacBSD, so your hardware seems OK. Now about the software:
everything you have is very old. The latest "release" version is 1.2.1, and
a lot of improvement has been made since in the -current release. Also, the
current booter is 1.11. My suggestion would be to download base and etc from
a -current snapshot and try that, with the latest booter and installer.
Very important: make sure you have Mode32 installed and 32-bit adressing
enabled. If I remember correctly, the "You`re hosed!" error message is what
you get with 32-bit adressing disabled. The newer booters check for this
and refuse to boot in 24-bit mode.
Your video card may be a problem: I'm not sure if it is supported. However,
you can help getting it supported, check puma.macbsd.com for details.

Hope this helps. Good luck,

               Nico
