I certainly agree that the PPC is very nice and has a lot of bang for the
buck... I wish I had one (or more :) However, I think the 68k is a bit
better than those numbers would indicate. It seems that the version 2 68K
MacOS client isn't very optimized; I get 6Kkeys/s on my Centris 660av
(25MHz 040) with it, but the version 2 NetBSD/m68k client gets a bit over
10Kkeys/s on the same machine. The version 1 MacOS client seemed to be
even better... I think I got around 11Kkeys/s with it.  I'm also getting
5.1 Kkeys/s on a PowerBook 150 (what is that? a 25MHz 030?), with the v1
MacOS client (NetBSD won't boot on it yet).

Anyways, I just wanted to point out that those of us without PowerMacs can
still participate, if so inclined...
