Well, now we are getting somewhere.  APS PowerTools 3.8 tells me that the 
drive needs a low level format.  When I try to format it, APS gives me 
the error message "Command 'AsyncFormat' failed. Error:-7932 - Unknown 
System or OS error."  Now if I only knew what that meant in English! :-)
