Howdy folks,

I've been trying to get a PPP connection goin', but pppd returns 
something about my serial port being in loopback mode.

How do I get it out of loopback?

Also, in X-windows if I do pppd I get the results sent across all windows 
AND the bottom of my screen, causing all the windows to scroll upwards. 
Is this normal?

My system is Quadra 840av, GEDD-36 kernel (for b+w X), Hayes 14.4 modem 
on modem port.
