No, you could get around that.  (By setting it manually w/ an older
booter.)  The real problem is that VM messes with the computer's memory
management settings and NetBSD needs to set them up for itself, and...
normally assumes that the Memory Mgr. is set up to clean default settings.
I'm not sure about the details, and I hope I'm explaining that correctly
enough....
