Are you running sendmail on your machine?  That is, of course,
assuming that it has a full-time Net connection...  Otherwise, you
need a MX host for your machine, and depending on the way you want
it to be, you need to either run sendmail or receive mail from the
MX host by POP3 or IMAP.
