...if I may, for a moment...

It's a _lot_ easier to answer these types of questions and provide
support when a little more information is provided.  Some important
things you neglected to provide:

	- Any console or syslog messages from routed.

	- Did routed core?  Where is the core file?

	- What is your ppp configuration?

"routed crashes" isn't much to go on.
