I'm running the stock 1.2 distribution.  I ran into problems
compiling guavac.  The problem was a missing <std/bastring.cc>.  I
checked on a machine running HP-UX and there, this missing file seems
to define the actual template methods laid out in <std/bastring.h>.  A
diff between the HP's bastring.h and my NetBSD's bastring.h showed no
difference.

        Is this a known problem?
