Dang. I've asked folks in the past if this works. This comment is the
first I've heard that it doesn't. This feature is one which I can't test
at the moment, so if no one says it's broken, I can't tell.

Where does it crash w/o LocalTalk shielding, and where with? Is it always
in the same place?
