Yeah.  If you're running X or dt, that would certainly be the case.
They open the device and hold it open while they're running.  It might
be useful to have a /dev/adbctl or something that you could use to run
ioctl()s on, but that might be dangerous if you're changing the data
flow of the information stream that dt or X (or whatever) is receiving.
