Did you check the gcc versions in gsrc1[0-2]? Some mirror sites
still carry NetBSD 1.0 and 1.1 and I think at least one of those
used gcc 2.6.x as its C compiler. If you can't find a mirror
site, try ftp.iij.ad.jp. I know they carry it.
Alternatively, you could replace Linux with NetBSD/i386. No, I'm
serious. I believe there are quite a few people who've set up a
cross-compiling environment for non-i386 ports on their NetBSD/i386
boxes. So, you could then get their help.
