Without sounding like a complete idiot, is it possible to recover text
from accidentally deleted files on a ufs filesystem? If I can remember
a phrase from the file can I search the unused disk media for this
phrase, possibly recovering text?
I accidentally overwrote a file by cat'ting > into it. Does Netbsd
reuse the file blocks (completely destroying the original data) or does
it in effect allocate a totally new file (leaving the possibility that
data might still exist on the disk).
I know this is a long shot but I figured it'd be better to ask.
Thanks alot for your time.
