Hi,

I have built a new madhatter kernel from today's(March 19, 1997) kernel
source.  It is available from:

<ftp://ftp.best.com/pub.s/sbrown/NetBSD/kernels/madhatter#38.tar.gz>

I have tested it on my system(Q610). The sonic driver appears NOT
to work there. Perhaps it will work on a Q700 or some of the other
systems.

Allen, Denton, or whoever,

The sonic driver seems to be able to figure out the hardware address.
I can also ifconfig the netmask or broadcast address, etc. But, as soon
as I try to ifconfig the internet address, it hangs the whole system,
without letting me drop into the debugger. At that point only a power
cycle brings the machine back. I'll be happy to run test kernels, or
testing apps, etc.

Please note that I started with a completely fresh build. Also note
that I tried both with MacTCP enabled and disabled on the MacOS side,
and got the same result.

Thanks,
Steve Brown,
