My Quadra 650 boots with one of the following kernels:
1. GENERIC-23 and later, available on ftp.netbsd.org and mirrors;
2. the "madhatter#35" kernel, on <http://www.dcs.qmw.ac.uk/~adrian>.

The madhatter kernel has the advantage that you can use X and dt on your
machine, at least in monochrome mode (once everything works, try 256 colors
for fun...)

Good luck.
