1. you will need the latest kernel. try GENERICSBC #23
2. A "serial console" means that the Mac's video and/or ADB aren't done
yet, so you'll need a separate computer to hook in via one of the serial
lines. An old Apple IIc or IBM XT will do; it just needs to have serial I/O
(in other words, can you hook up a modem to it?). The separate computer
does not by any means need to be fast; it's just used for input and output
in place of the Mac's monitor & keyboard.

If that doesn't work, you'll just have to wait. =( I'm still waiting for
the 68LC040 fix personally for my Performa 637CD which is otherwise a
working machine.
