NetBSD has this too, BTW... see /usr/src/distrib/crunch. The i386 port
uses it for the install floppies, and I'm sure other ports use it too.
/usr/src/distrib/mac68k/inst-common/Makefile.inc even seems to use the
crunch stuff, though I'm not sure for what... :)
