} Yes, I get this same behaviour using xntpd 3.5.88 or .88.2.  I chalked it
} up to the software being beta, and didn't look into it any further.

I'm using version 3.5f and not having any problems like that. It actually
operates fairly well, though every two weeks or so it gives up and I have
to restart it, but that seems to be because the macs clock is loosing so
much time.
