Or just open the "Memory" control panel under MacOS and see if it
allows you to change Virtual Memory settings. If so, the Mac has
a PMMU. If not, it doesn't. (This test only works under System
7, I guess.)

Actually, the only time I've seen one for sale, it were rather
expensive, US$200 or so. Perhaps that vendor was just gouging
the price. (My Mac II had a PMMU already installed when I bought
it used.)
