The kernel prints the name of a card and the name of Gamma table on
boot, could you check that line for me? I have Mac High-Res Gamma, it
is darker then linear gamma (that was used in the previous kernel). 

I can only guess that Mac display is lighter than others. Try to
display the same color (same RGB) in MacOS. I guess it should be
similar to X colors.
