I'm having some very strange troubles with this.  I own two modems, one a
14.4 and one a 2400,  I tried both on both serial ports, and boths times
the same thing happened - the 2400's send and receive lights flickered
wildly but it didn't go off hook, and the 14.4 ignored my and hung the
system consistently.

I have an LCIII, 1.2 realease with ADBTEST kernel, 12MB RAM.

Help greatly appreciated, as I can't do much of anything until I get PPP
running.
