I have successfully installed and booted NetBSD on my PowerBook 520
using a kernel from a gentleman in Japan, but there is one major
problem: After booting into single user, the only three programs that
seem to work are "cat", "sh", and "echo", which makes the system rather
useless. A major problem is that "mount" doesn't work... Every other
program produces an "Illegal Instruction" and imediately drops back to
the shell prompt.
I can't get the machine to drop to the debugger and even if I could,
I probably don't have the necessary knowledge to figure out what's wrong
(I don't take Operating Systems till next fall :). However, if anyone
out there wants to test things, I'd be more than happy to run the tests
on my machine (PB520, 12megs of RAM).
