thanks to all who replied.  very helpful.  i hope i can get the IIsi machines
at a price i can afford.  i would really like to play with them.  if the kernal
isn't 100% stable, that's the best part.  that's why i picked up Linux years
ago at kernel version 0.99.x because getting it to work is the fun part. :)
