Hello Everyone

I made an entry in /etc/passwd
pcarter:*:891:0:Paul Carter:/home/pcarter:/bin/csh

making myself a member of group 0

Even then I could not su from my pcarter account while using NCSA Telnet on
a networked Mac.

Adding myself to the group file solved this problem, the man pages and all
the books I have state:-

A user is automatically in a group if that group was speci-
fied in their /etc/passwd entry and does not need to be added to that
     group in the /etc/group file.

Am I missing something else?

System SE/30
GENERIC-6
etc11
man11
base11

Thanks
Paul
