Just a piece of feedback:

Current kernel is at a loss to cope with some hard drives.
It seems to be a regression from past kernels (<=1.1a).

#Boot time: (sd1a is an external HD holding /usr/src - not the boot device)
/netbsd: ncrscsi0 targ 2 lun 0: <IBM, WDS-L160 !D, S700> SCSI2
0/direct fixed
/netbsd: sd1 at scsibus0ncrscsi0 : Resetting SCSI-bus (Timeout waiting for
phase-change)
/netbsd: : drive offline

#And latter when i try: disklabel /dev/sd1a:
/netbsd: sd1(ncrscsi0:2:0): error code 109

Reference: LCIII/ADBTEST#111 built from current sources.
Last kernel known to work: GENERIC#19
