Hi
here is more information has requested
not having 40 megs of free disk space i had to cut the tar file in bits
so it could be installed on my machine, just divided it logically so
that i know exactly where goes what.
i ldconfiged the libs, (even put something in rc for startup)
some of the fonts are not installed tho, if they are they are in compressed form
(because of the low disk space problem)
the fonts.dir and fonts.alias are the proper files, so that should not be a problem
here is where the problem occurs
1- i start Xwindows via startx
2- you see the usual setting 640X480 and everything is cool up to that
xinit seems to go ok and all
3- then it returns something that clears from the screen mighty fast, it talks about
fixed fonts, i cant read it cause it just blows off the screen within a fraction of a second

Other than that it seems i installed everything ok, even tho i did not install the man pages
altho i have them remotely so its ok :)

thanks for the help

Ben
