I'm trying to hook up a 128 Mb magneto-optical disc (Fujitsu M2511A) to a
Macsi running NetBSD1.1A.
I've tried formatting with APS (works OK, A/UX style 3.0, 246000 blocks in
slice 3), doing mkfs already gives errors :

>modesense page 4(6).
>error on scsiread() #5
>probably a phase error - ignore this time
>Num Heads 0
>Num Cylinders=0
>modesense page 3(6).
>error on scsiread() #5
>probably a phase error - ignore this time
>Bytes_sector=0
>Sector_track=0
>Wild Ass guess at sect/track

Going furter I finally end up with mkfs stopping

Booting NetBSD I get error messages when it first accesses the drive :

>ncrscsi0 targ6 lun0 : <FUJITSU,M2511A,1300> SCSI0 7/optical removable
>sd2  at scsibus0sd2 (ncrscsi0:6:0) illegal request, data 00 00 00 00 24 00
>30 c0 00 02 80 20 01 00 00 00 c4 00 16 b1 e0 04 22 60
>sd2:could not mode sense (4)
>using fictitous geometry : 121Mb, 121cyl, 64head, 32sec, 512bytes/sect

Is there anyone who could help me further with this problem. Removable
storage would really be apprecited by me as my hard disc is only 150Mb.

Thanks
Dirk
