That was a good suggestion, which worked to the extent that it was accepted
and I was able to continue.  However, when I proceed, it still crashes at
the first opportunity to scroll (vm_fault).

Shouldn't "tty" or "vt100" work anyway?  Also, why is the available memory
half of the physical memory?
