This is exactly why it won't mount.  The kernel (last I checked) only
supports root, swap, usr, root & usr file system names.
There is no problem with calling it a root or usr parition if you arn't booting
off the drive.  I think the only problem w/ doing it even if you are booting
off the drive is that you are likly to confuse your self as to which partion
is which.  (Will the real root partion please stand up :)
