This is a problem that comes up quite a bit. I just had the same problem
trying to compile the CERN http stuff including the http-proxy daemon. I've
seen it in other things as well.

 Is there a change that could be made to the NetBSD libraries that would
avoid this forever, or is it a matter of other software not being put
together correctly?
