Older Macs like which ? I thought that all have had the same SCC, which
can do up to 230.4kbps internally clocked and up to 920kbps externally
clocked (according to the specs booklet that came with my IIsi). It
probably can't go that fast async, but localtalk is synchronous
(synchronous transformer-isolated serial bus as some docs put
it, if I remember correctly).
